Plan on picking up a new pair of runners at the weekend. I'm just shy of 400 miles on my existing pair of Asics Nimbus 12. I've never had gait analysis done but I've been 95% injury free with Nimbus, if it ain't broken .....

But let's say I'm looking around and can't find any Nimbus what pair should I pick up as an alternative?

    Thanks

AFAIK Asics Cumulus are quite similar to Nimbus.

I think you can compare shoes on the road runner sports website, I find that site very good for shoe reviews etc the runnersworld.com site has a shoe comparer aswell, again, I think.

Here's a chart where you can see all the neutral shoes from the different brands. Why don't you go to a running shop which stocks a lot of different brands and see what feels comfortable?

The newNimbus coming out end of the year are going to be 30grams lighter and look amazing,on a negative they will be the same price as a pair of Kayano's.

    Other options:
    Nike:Pegasus
    Brooks:Glycerin
    Asics:Landreth
    Saucony:Triumph
    Mizuno:Rider
    Adidas:Glide
    Etonic:Praya
    Newbalance:1080

Make sue you replace :P with a P though, they might get a bit confused in the shop if you stick your tongue out at them and then ask for a pair on egasus. :pac:

I use both Asics Cumulus 12 and Nike Lunarglide 2 - would recommend both and they're both fairly cushioned which you would be used to with the nimbus. Another good neutral shoe is Saucony Progrid Jazz but it's a lighter shoe - still nice though if not as cushioned as the other two - good if you like a responsive shoe though.
