A lot of posters are making out like Liverpool fans on here were revelling in Nani's injury. I haven't seen that.

Lloyd seems to have got the most attention, but the worst I can find from him today is:

Great stuff from Carragher - delighted to see Nani ****ed out of the game.

Since when has it become a moral crime to be happy with your players getting stuck in and opposition whinge bags going off injured?

People need to man up and stop being such wimps.

I was following this thread throughout the match and only one person that i saw expressed delight that Nani went off injured, the rest were just laughing at his theatrics, myself included. Don't blow it all out of proportion, that reeks of bitterness.

In an ideal world you'd want United to be able to use their massive earning potential to rival Barca and Madrid as a destination for the worlds top players.

    World is far from ideal.

In that he looks like the Bionic Man with flaps skin hang off and it's not magnified that much. Also image quality is very poor.

It looks a complete fake and nothing like picture from paper above which shows just a cut that requires a few stitches to me.

And we have Pogba, Morrisson, Welbeck, Rafael, Fabio amongst others aswell. These lads will be players for the future. There are plenty others too. Josh King etc.

See, I love the writing off of United I really do. the debt, the lack of signings blah, blah blah. I'd prefer us to develop these guys than spunk 30 million on Berbatov. If it takes years for these lads to come through then so be it.

Years of mediocrity and not qualifiying for the CL would be ok in your eyes? Just so it meant you brought through your own players instead of spending big money on them

Well said. Every football fan loves to see a tough challenge. Of course you want it to be fair. But if the injured recipient has to come off the pitch after it, you take a certain delight in it.

That said no one wants to see another player seriously injured. Even Nani.

Here's the reality check - we've gone through a ****ty couple of years but we're on the up.

United are weakening year in year out, but have still managed to keep ahead of the other weakening clubs. Ferdinand, Scholes and Giggs are all showing signs of serious decline. Rooney is a shadow of himself. Some of the younger players are patently not good enough. You have an absolutely horrendous amount of debt hanging over you which inhibits the club in many ways. You don't have the financial power that you once had, you wont be able to adequately replace those players who are in decline. Your manager is worryingly erratic.

United are in a better position for the short term. In three (possibly two) to five years we'll be back on top.

Pretty much agree with all of that, except the erratic manager bit. I believe its only Fergie thats keeping such a mediocre squad going.
Liverpool have copped onto the fact that a decent player costs 18-20mil minimum these days. Utd can only afford 11 mil tops and thats get you an unproven kid.

If it had to happen for the club to survive then why not?

No success will ever give me as much joy as the team contain Scholes, Butt, Giggs, Neville's and Beckham lifting the CL title.

Fwiw, I think Pogba for example has the potiential to be one of the best midfielders in the world. Essien-esque with more skill.

Again I'll ask one more time... how many bad tackles does a United player have to take to shake off the lunatic Roy Keanes horrible challenge and attitude to Haaland?

None, but they will be reminded of it and the rather positive reaction to it from a large minority of United fans when poster like "Ordinary Man" criticize Llyod and ask when do United fans ever celebrate an opponent getting injured?

I remember people thinking Possebon was going to be world class too. A serious injury and a youngsters career is over as quick as it started.

Just because i havent seen it mentioned, it may have been covered already but why is nobody giving out about Nani lashing out at the St. Johns ambulance worker who was trying to help him?

    *Tips cap*

Let's just say I agree totally. What would be really great for this forum is if people could set aside hypocrisy and false moralising, and get real and honest when discussing the game.

Haven't seen the match. Only saw the starting line up and the subs. Jesus ****ing christ Fergie, I know we call for 4-4-2 away, but to go 4-4-2 away to Liverpool with Carrick and Scholes in the middle of the pitch, a weak central defensive partnership, and no Darren Fletcher, what in the world were you thinking?

By all accounts we deserved this result. It's a series of results that has been coming for a while. We're soft in the middle, every single person knows it. Unless Anderson gets fit and steps up, and Fletcher re-finds form, we've no hope in the CL. Time to make changes in the summer. That said, we can still get this league victory if we keep our eye on the prize, it's just going to be very tough. Bolton Home, West Ham Away, Newcastle Away, Everton Home. We need 10 points there, if not 12.

Of course, but same could be said for a purchased player. Owen Hargreaves for example. We spent big on him and largely it has been money wasted.

You wouldn't be upset and irrational after getting injured badly in a massive game? Plus, we know Nani is already a bit of a fool.

The fact that you quote him and then give a different interpretation of what he said is laughable.

He made a fool of himself, condoned Carraghers awful challenge and was delighted to see Nani injured. Wimps you say? GTFO.

Nah man I don't think so. In the picture where it doesn't look that bad, it looks like a very short cut. In the bad one it looks like it's several inches long.

But sure, it could be the picture where it doesn't look bad that's the faked one...

Stuck in? He tried to snap his leg. Its meat head players and fans we need out of football. Build a time machine and go back to the 70s or stick to watching ESPN Classic, when football was apparently "Hard"

Well done on missing the point!
You cant rely on an entire team of players who have come through the ranks and expect to challenge for the title without spending big money on other players. I wish you could, but not in this day and age
