Fair play Liverpool, complete outplayed United and showed they wanted it more.

No refereeing decision won this for them, just sheer quality.

Enjoy the day that's in it.

    Fúckers :P
my problem is that United could have potentially got into the game if Carragher had gone off, not that United should need to be playing against 10 men to get into the game. Rooney and Berba were a farce today.

Why are you fascinated with United?

    Genuine question.

Ah don't mind BERBA, sure you can't expect him to put on a brave face as next season's european hopes fade.

I love nothing more than pointing our Fergie's flaws. It fills me with joy that he paid nearly 80m for Nani, Anderson, Carrick and Hargreaves for example.

United's problems are not down to Ferguson's transfer dealings though. It is down to overly leveraged owners who have deprieved the club of on the field investment.

What is happening, or has the potential of happening anyway, is exactly what happened at Liverpool in the past 3 years. United's fall from grace will be a slower occurance though due to them having significantly further to fall than Liverpool had. They also have a top class manager, who has the complete support of the squad and owners and also has the support of the press.

I agree with your post but considering United apparently made a last minute bid for Ashley Young the money is there for at least one signing and if they couldnt get Young they should have had a contingency plan because we are bereft of attacking talent when you look past the first 11.

Torres gave us everything for the first few years.

Far more than we will ever know was going on at that club for the final few years. It saw Alonso, Masch and finally Torres leave. It is probably the underlying reason for Reina being on the verge of leaving.

its all what if but just imagine a fit and firing torres alongside suarez, they would be unplayable, torres hasn't looked the same player since his injury in march 2010 but he is still a worldclass striker who lets not forget scored more goals in his 3 years at anfield than the likes of rush or fowler did in their first 3 years at the club

Typical Sky Sports, giving Dirk Kuyt MOTM for 3 simple tap-ins.

Not taking anything away from Kuyt he did his job well but surely it should have gone to Suarez, he tore Utd apart today!

On a side-note, what on earth has happened to Wayne Rooney? He was anonymous again today and a shadow of the player he was two years ago.

It's starting to become too long to be a blip.

Hard to know. I think there must be serious off-pitch issues; not sure what exactly they are though. Could be a combination of things.
You are right though - it's more than a blip. He hasn't been the same since his injury in Munich last March.

You sure seem it tbh and their was nothing stupid about he's post. Genuine comment that its a possibility.

The trouble with Berba is that he is a young kid, who has a knack of winding people up, because he posts about other teams in their match\club threads rather than in the Spurs one who he professes to support.
He's harmless though and can be quite funny.
Shame he doesnt post in the actual Spurs thread or even start a Wolves V Spurs thread that seems strangely missing!

Yeah but it takes skill for a player to get into positions to score simple tap-ins, to know where the ball is, to react quicker than anyone else etc

This is what has so many Liverpool fans downplaying what he gave us. It is exactly what United fans did when Tevez left.

What a disaster of a game.

Any United fans who try to blame the ref for this result should be banned from watching football.

Without Anderson available United simply can not play a four man midfield in big games. Scholes just does not have the stamina to carry Carrick for 90 minutes. Maybe if Fletcher had started instead of Carrick today it would have been different, but I doubt by much.

Nani is a fúcking disgrace to the club. I don't care if he was injured. His wimpy theatrics were disgusting. And snapping out at the St Johns guy, WTF?! I thought that he'd got that shít out of his game, but he hasn't. An utterly disgusting human being. I would be very happy if he was sold. A truly gifted player, but a despicable person.

Well done to Liverpool, fully deserved. Suarez looking like a very special player who's going to be huge for the club.

Edit: Suarez man of the match. Obviously.

Tap-ins can ONLY be scored within a few yards of the goal. When the ball is in that area, you also need to be there. Thats pretty much all there is to it.

And what if Rafael had gone off? He also deserved a red.

We were well beaten today. Talk of what ifs about red cards is pathetic.

It'll be interesting to see has anyone scored a hat trick from less cumulative yards that Kuyt today. A mate made it 1 yard out + 5 yards out + 1 yard out...

    *quietly checks Gary Lineker's records*

Anyone who's played football knows that the coach ALWAYS tells players to follow the ball in, Kuyt did it today for the 3rd, no defenders reacted, which is poor obviously. The second goal was pure luck, that ball could have gone anywhere, just happened to fall perfect for Kuyt, first goal was the only one you could argue that he used instinct to get into the position, which came from shocking defending mixed with luck!

Quite a damning stat of the ineffectiveness of the team.

Ref was not to blame, the players were. And i dont think anyone here IS saying that?

Carrick is a f**king joke of a player imo. Shouldnt start in any game, brings nothing to the team. He doesnt command the ball like a CM should. He hides away from the ball. Honestly any player could do wat he does... gets the ball and either turns and passes back to defence or sweeps it wide. Thats it. Never takes on anyone or runs at them. Utds real downpoint is his position.

In relation to Nani, although he does a lot of play acting, The tackle was a disgrace and i believe the adreniline got him to his feet but he must have really been injured to have gone off like that. I dont think he was taking a swipe at the ambulance person, think someone i.e. a player said something. He was frustrated and its easy to see why.

    Sorry gotta disagree.

1st goal: Suarez tore defence apart and passed to him. Suarez made that goal.

2nd Goal: He had no idea that Nani would pass it to him but put it away well.

3rd goal: He followed up well to put away free kick taken by Suarez.

Everything Suarez did today was fantastic and 2 goals would not have been scored if not for him.

Definite man of the match for me!

We all should have known with a Carrick/Scholes midfield. I don't see how a tame midfielder and a fella who is in the twilight of his career would work against an energetic Liverpool side. Dunno what SAF was thinking.

VDS had a very good game, his sweeping and shot-stopping was excellent.

I can't think of any other positives. I guess Rooney was alrite.

Maybe they were talking about Van der Sar getting the ball out of the net all the time? :D

Anyway, I'm delighted for Suarez, that was truly excellent stuff...and of course good old Dirk Kuyt. A well deserved hat-trick
