In our house we have several different apple devices all signed into itunes and the app store through one itunes account. The reason for this is so that i can check any items the kids download to their ipods through the purchase history part of our itunes account on my laptop.

Does anyone know of a way that I can see in the purchase history which device the particular app was downloaded to?At the moment I just see a full list of apps downloaded but I don't know who downloaded what

No, I don't think it's possible to find out which device it was downloaded to. You would have to check each device.

If you really want to track who is downloading what you should create a separate iTunes account for each of them (you'll need a iTunes voucher first time in order to bypass the credit card requirement). Then you can apply whatever restrictions you like to each device, and they won't be able to buy paid apps (no credit card) unless you decide to give them an iTunes voucher.
