Interrailing - Train Timetables

Hi, just wondering what is the best site to use for checking the train timetables around Europe? I've tried using "Scotty" and "Deutsch Bahn" which are both the recommended sites, and I'm wondering can these sites show you train timetables for as far ahead as July?

Basically, I know I want to go from A to B but when I want to check the timetable for a certain day in July, it asks me for a specific time of departure, but of course the whole reason I'm trying to use a timetable is because I don't know the departure times!

Can anybody from experience say which is the best website to use to organize your train route?

ok, this sub-page on the german rail site, allows you to create a personal timetable from one station to another (almost like the printed timetables you might already see for Irish rail services)

The result is a handy printable compact pdf.

If your route is on a mainline, then you might need to change the allowed number of changes to "no change" to force only direct trains being displayed.
(also, maybe change the time range to your dates and approx time of day of travel!!)

I found the Thomas Cook European Rail Timetable to be invaluable when interrailing. Well worth it especially if you want to change your plans at will.

Yes I would definitely invest in this. It was like a bible on my travels last year!

Try this out, great if your bringing an iPod touch or iPhone as most places you will stay have free wifi, I also got the Thomas cook book and have to say it's excellent it's only about €20ish

I went interrailing 2 years ago and I have to recommend this website http://www.oebb.at/en/index.jsp, its austrian and it saved us so many times (no pun intended), absolutely spot on train timetable for every train station in europe, perfect for interrailing! Good luck!
