Dell Latitude D620 display issue?

i went to turn my laptop on this morning and got no reaction from the screen.
i then proceeded to see if the screen was gone by plugging the laptop into my acer desktop monitor.

i pressed the fn f8 combo on the laptop (f8 on keypad is marked crt/lcd)

but i get no response from external monitor either. obviously if i cant see anything i cant troubleshoot anything.

any suggestions would be help!!!!

Any of the LEDs flashing? Can you hear the fan turning?

If it appears dead, try re-seating the ram, or move it to the other bay.

when i press the power button the power light, battery indicator, wifi, and bluetooth indicators come on.

i re-seated the ram and hard drive.

still nothing.

Moved to Laptops.

Sounds like there's an issue with the GPU, surprised you're not getting beeping or odd patterns of status LEDs flashing.

It could be the ribbon cable (if its come loose) from the LCD to the motherboard or the LCD screen itself.

I hope its something simple and not the LCD itself as they are not a cheap repair.

an external screen would work then
