I still haven't heard anything about the OPW placements since the interview. I think its ridiculous that we are paying Engineers Ireland for membership and they treat us like this.

At least they are giving you the opportunity. Not many other professional bodies are doing that

    hi
I apply for work placement in limerick County Council and an office near to me would of being Glad to take me on as a volunteer. But then he was told that form Human Resource said the unions do not allow placement even unpaid so i didn't get placement!. I’m in my 4th engineer course and I need to get this.

The interview for this placement was in November. They told us then that we would be informed around the 20th of December. As of today I still haven't heard back so honestly what opportunity are they giving. They haven't even been in touch with me since the interview. I still think its bad form. Even an email to say the decision has been delayed would be nice.

Got a letter from them maybe 4/5 weeks ago. Maybe yours got lost in the post or something. The people who got accepted started the beginning of January i believe. Sorry for being the bearer of bad news.
