Tuning a B string to C

    How do I do this. I can't tune my ear and normally use a tuner.

    I would think the 5th fret on the G string would be C but if your ear is not good enough to tune properly then I am sorry.

    Don't worry, there is always someone who will have a simple, but ingenious, suggestion. I look forward to reading it too.

    Play a C on the B string and look at what the tuner displays/lights up, then play the open string and tune up until it displays/lights up the same.

    Either that or buy a better tuner and/or start training your ears!? :D

    Fret the 4th fret on the B string, tune until it matches the E string. I think...

    Try this

    Although do as the first reply said and tune it so it sounds the same as the 5th fret on the G string because you're not always going to have a tuner handy! Very worthwhile thing to learn

    find any c note on a guitar and tune to it, easy peasy

    my choice would be the C at the 5th fret G also

    Aye, which is why I linked to a laptop tuner application and told him to learn how to tune to the other string

    Tune up the B string slightly, put your finger on the fourth fret and tune up until the tuner reads 'E'. Take your finger off and the open string is now 'C'

    play the 5th fret harmonic on the G string and the 7th fret harmonic on the B string. tune the B string up until there's no phase difference... :pac:
