You're all so mean. Poor guy, tears probably flooding through his lensless glasses now.

You're just jealous that you can't pull off a spiffy scarf on a warm summers day.

That's one thing I really, really don't understand.

I wear glasses about half of the time, but I hate wearing them in public because I think they look ridiculous - why would anyone wear them when they don't need to?!

Because glasses are awesome. Well nice glasses anyway.

Anyway, as for Ireland's highest paid model, that is Rosanna Davison. Which should be pretty obvious really. Rozanna Purcell is chasing her down though!

Unfortunately some users have used this thread to take pot shots at other boards members, this is not on.
Bans and infractions have been dealt out.

I remember, vaguely, that there was some once off, not-very-good RTE2 comedy drama thing on a few years ago. We all ripped it to bits, and then the folks involved in making it showed up to defend it. They were quite nice, and sounded really hurt about the ferocity of the criticism, so we all felt like jerks until the thread died an ugly, awkward death and sank away.

    Was that The Roaring Twenties?

By Jove, I think you're right.

My recollection of events may be a bit gin hazed, but I do seem to recall that you could almost hear everybody's gaze dropping to their feet.

I remember it a bit differently... namely everyone continued to make fun of it and the Television people left.

Des Bishop once said "you Irish, you always make generalizations about people". The irony didn't seem to appear to him.

Of course the irony "appeared" to him. That would be what's called a Joke.
It's a good, if not an original joke.

As for Bishop, he's an alright comedian. Certainly light years ahead of you judging by your above comment.

Not the way he 'delivered' it, no. Comedians, when doing an intentional funny, tend to pause to let the audience laugh, letting them know that "I have cracked a joke, feel free to laugh/let it sink in and then laugh". Bishop just carried blithely carried on.

When I'm fabulously wealthy and famous I'll still come back to AH to get my share of abuse like every other Irish person who dares to do well for themselves. :)

Not true - I have seen him make that joke before. It is very obviously a joke and like a previous poster said not even an original at that. Besides even if he hadn't intended it as a joke I am sure he would have copped onto it after a few shows when people laughed at that point. Not all comedians deliver their comedy the generic wait for audience to laugh concept. That is more suited to one liner jokes.

    Joke not found
    Not unlike Mr Bishop then?

Many worry about Artificial Intelligence. I worry far more about Organic Idiocy.
