    Hey all,

    Have just got engaged and I am looking for a wedding venue in the North Tipp, Offaly, East Galway, Westmeath or Laois area. We need quite a big venue. Any one any suggestions or reviews of hotels in the region? Price obviously is a BIG factor!! Thanks ;)

    Durrow castle in Laois is just breathtaking. Truly gorgeous.

    carlton shearwater in ballinasloe and sheraton hotel in athlone are doing fairly good packages.

    Hi Congrats on your engagment - i would highly recommend the County Arms Hotel, Birr. I am getting married myself soon - but my budget just wont stretch that far - well worth it tho if you can afford it. I've been at 2 weddings there in the last year and the hotel staff are outstanding:)

    Some venues I've been to:

    The Heritage, Killenard, Laois
    Middleton Park House, near mullingar (www.mph.ie - my personal favourite)
    Glasson Golf Club, near athlone - very nice room, great views
    wineport lodge, near athlone
    Kilshane house, bansha, co tipp
