Fritzl cellar to be sealed after Austrians partied inside

AUSTRIAN POLICE WILL seal off the cellar where Josef Fritzl kept his daughter imprisoned for 24 years after it became a destination for parties.

Illegal partygoers are said to have gained access to the cellar via an unlocked garage door to the house in the Austrian town of Amstetten, according to the Daily Mail.

Officials found old computers, smashed up chairs, a mattress, drug paraphernalia, smashed bottles and soiled clothes spread across the eight rooms that Fritzl constructed under his house where he kept Elisabeth locked up and fathered seven children with her.

One intruder said it had become “cool” amongst locals to say you had been in the cellar and added:

The smell is atrocious; there has been no air. The floors have deep puddles.

Rat droppings have intermingled with cigarette stubs and food. There is no electricity but partygoers have used candles.

The walls are very thick. You can play music down there and no-one will hear, or see any light.

The paper adds that Elisabeth, who now lives with her children 40 miles away from the village, is said to be furious with the ‘invasion’.

Fritzl gained worldwide notoriety in 2008 after he was arrested by police who discovered that he had kept his daughter Elisabeth enslaved in an underground cellar for 24 years and had fathered seven children with her.

He is currently serving life in prison for rape, enslavement and negligent homicide over the death of one of the newborns.
