Vw Dash error

Hi all The mothers new golf has come up with a warning on the display " check safety lock mechanicsm" i think its something to do with the deadlock feature..the error only appears when the car is switched off....any ideas? how do i turn it off? cheers D

If it's a new car take it to the nearest VW service centre. That's what a warranty is for.

Yes im aware of that...but if it just as simple of deactivating the deadlock then it would be handy to do it myself

the manual tells you how to turn on the deadlock feature but not how to turn it off...

I think that's just a warning.

Comes up on all the new Passat's (B7) I've driven when you take the key out.

No need to do anything.
