When I was growing up, there was no shame in being an ugly kid (I was the tough one;smelly) or an ugly Pornstar.
Y' don't seem to see as many of them anymore.
Is it now a crime to be average/mediocre?

I assume the op was trying to make a thread asking 'are people getting better looking' but was still on acid at the time and so it came out like the above.

Hitler lost, people are getting better looking due to mixed breeding. The hitler/stormfront types worst nightmare.

Children are better fed and are obsessed with Miley Cyrus et al so want to achieve that vacuous glossy look which means a lot of panstick at an early age.

Well, lacking looks doesn't denote mediocrity. And remember, looks fade!*

Though if you're good-looking, people will think you're better at things than you are, so you can afford to be mediocre in other areas.

And yes it is a crime to be ugly. Dont let stupid tv companies let you think different. Their crusade on having "Normal" looking people on tv has been disgraceful. Its like its a crime to look good now a days.

I don't think so. It has to do with how society and the media conditions us to think. It is neither Maddie's photogenic appearance ,nor the fact that her parents are eminent professionals, that has her in the news for the last year and a half. It is the media convincing us that her life is more important than a ginge knacker kid from Ronanstown, that I was commenting on.

I disagree. People are getting better looking because ugly male doctors are still a catch, while an ugly female doctor might aswell stitch it up.

I've seen Polish women of very varying looks in Ireland, from very pretty to very ugly but probably best not to get back into this debate again.
