The Cork Button Company on one of the quays may be a bit cheaper, but that place is worth visiting just to look at, a tiny room wall to wall with buttons, it's really pretty! Owners are nice too.

If you wanted to get really DIY with it you could make your own buttons with polymer clay. There's some basic info here that pertains to bead making but it's the same process. I've never tried it but my sister has made some really lovely stuff. She made these earrings:

    EE97FE93CB734A8AAFC4CFF0973F0FC5-0000329149-0002159289-00240L-00000000000000000000000000000000.jpgE02BE6A4BC7E48A28EE8061E7A343E2B-0000329149-0002159288-00240L-00000000000000000000000000000000.jpg

I'd say it'd be a fun way to jazz up fairly mediocre cardigans and such!

Oh, and my favourite Cork charity shops are the two on Princes Street, but I don't think any match the SVP in Galway, that place rules.

Ohh they're lovely, think my mum used to make stuff with that, was it ever called something else?

Princes street Enable Ireland is my fave too actually and the best value.

Oh man I LOVE that Svp shop in Galway, it clothed me from the age of 13 through to 19 with enough money spare for rollies and cans! :D

This arrived today from ASOS. I love it! Really nice fit. Thinking of getting the black one too.

    That's gorgeous.

Is the material as shiny in reality as it looks in the pics? What's the sizing like? Big/small/average?

I don't know, it's always been polymer that my sister used, though she knows more about it than I do.

The cancer society place just down from it is really good for dresses. I got this in there a week or two ago. Tis pretty but a bit costume-y!

Yeah the SVP is awesome. I started being recognised by staff and for a while I was getting little discounts. Discounts in a charity shop! :o
    I miss that place!

Aw man can't believe I missed that, it's so beautiful! Perfect with a really washed out pair of jeans and sandals in the summer :)

Ok this is officially the end of my spending this month..
Got 2 yards each of the pink and blue ones at the bottom of the stack. Going to make the prettiest skirts ever with them!

Great, no better excuse for a trip needed then! Could you recommend any particular shops or warehouses? I wouldn't know where to start!

Get the tube out to Goldhawk Road - it's choc-a-cloc with fabric shops. Some are better than others - but I can't remember specifics.

YEAH! Just bought this leather "See by Chloe" wallet at the weekend in BT's Galway. I'd been looking at Marc Jacobs and Mulberry wallets for WEEKS but they're very pricey and a little on the small side. Love this cos it works as a full zip wallet (no change or receipts falling out) AND can double-time as an elegant little clutch, fitting in my mobile and a lipstick if needed!

The leather is really soft, and I love the gold hardware on it. I think the look is simple but luxurious. Don't think this photo does it justice, really, but wanted to put up something

This really is the end of it, sooo broke now :( Got three yards of the blue and white eyelet and 10 yards of the cream lace for about 9 euros with shipping, really good value :) The shop is well worth having a look at, really good selection of trims and good value: http://www.etsy.com/people/EarlyAttic

    It's fab isn't it! :)

Sorry should've posted the link. I Pm'd her on Etsy to ask for a custom order, as the original listing she had advertised was for four fat quarters, so she kindly made a special listing for me.

It was less than 25 euros for the four yards including postage, which I think is reasonable for medium weight cotton.

    Here's the original listing I found: http://www.etsy.com/listing/65902145/diy-patchwork-fabric-cotton-damask-four

    And her shop: http://www.etsy.com/shop/craftfabric?ref=seller_info

Thanks girls, Ax paris had a 20% off code on their facebook page and the second dress was reduced to €31 on the doo-lally website, it seems to be sold out now but loads of UK shops sell it for that reduced price and you can find it if you search for fever delilah dress!
