    Hi,
Is it possible to convert a solid fuel system to gas? I'm fed up cleaning out ashes and don't fancy going through another winter of cold mornings. The gas lines go right up to my house but we were not connected. Anyone know who does this and roughly how much it would cost?

    Cue asks :

What do you mean by " solid fuel system " ? A boiler ? An open fire place ?

It's not usually a problem Cue ,pipes usually go back to the cylinder area when possible.

You'll need to get a meter organised through board gais and have an RGI installer fill out a cert for a new installation.

    It's all pretty painless.

Sorry. I have a solid fuel cooker (Stanley) that heats the radiators and hot water.

As far as I know Stanley has a good range of cookers which can be switched/altered to gas - or other fuels. Contact them and see what kits are available for your cooker.
