problem installing programs on Windows 7

    Hi folks,

I have a real problem with my dell desktop running windows 7

It seems it will not let me install any programs or updates apart from window and driver updates. Initially I began getting invalid signature errors so I did the following

In IE8 tools>internet options>Advanced>Allow software to run or install even if signature is invalid.

This will allow me to download the software but when I go to install it I get and error/time out or nothing actually happens.

I tried rebooting in safe mode and in safe mode with signature sign turned off but I get the same error.

So after months of this issue I quick formatted the hard drive and reinstalled Win 7 from the boot disk. But the issue persists.

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.
    :(

Is it just software that you've downloaded or software from discs that doesn't install?

Are you sure you have admin rights?

It's just software that I've downloaded, and yep, I've admin rights alright.

Might try a full HD format and see if it works.
