    Hi MWT,

I simply asked HR on the day. Was told around 25/30. The next round is group exercise and presentation on a stock (candidates will be notified in advance), with 5/6 people a day. A handful will then be dropped and final interviews after.

They couldn't give the final number they will be taking but said around (subject to business needs) 12.

    Hi Jbopping,

They said 25 overall, not each department. They only took on just over 10 graduates in total last year. In the presentation slides which showed all of last years graduates there wasnt much more then that and the majority are training as execution traders now.

    Dantheman,

    whats pfo?

Any one else still not rejected or accepted yet?-still waiting myself. Their HR is a bit of a joke really

havent heard anything either. Is it safe to assume the worst at this stage?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 707 ✭✭✭ulinbac

2 others and myself have been rejected since Thursday.

As NardDogg said, their HR is a joke!! Any other company I have dealt with have responded within 48hrs and interviewed a lot more than they did over the 2 weeks. Their responses were over a week late and that is not acceptable.

Anyway, time to prepare for the next interview. :)

    Gl Ulinbac,

What interview do you have coming up?
Has anyone here heard anything from/got an interview for NCB Stockbrokers?

I was wondering the same thing about NCB, I'm in the same boat, still waiting. It's 2 months since I applied, very poor showing on NCB's part to leave us in the dark this long. I'll contact them on Monday.

Got rejection from NCB a week ago, and got through to Davy Assessment Centre. Got that same email Monday last @ 7pm but they don't have a date yet for it.

Anybody get an interview with NCB?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 45 Jbopping

Yeah I had an interview with Ncb, they said it's pretty short listed already, only 2 jobs!

did anyone hear back from ncb interview yet, or have any idea what the numbers were like for the interviews?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 45 Jbopping

I went for the stockbroking stream and haven't heard back but was told it was about 15-20 people. I dunno if this is in total or if it's just for this stream. Anyone have any ideas of how much the starting salary for either ncb or davy is?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 48 BMRising

you mean 15-20 were called for interview? any idea how many applied overall...?

central bank starts at about 28k so id imagine ncb and davey are a few grand over that, cant find anything online though.

15-20 interviewed i heard, no idea how many applied, but i know a good lot got cut at the shl assessment stage! Really you think over 28000? i was thinking it was gonna be something like the accounting firms...

Lads, as a three year employee of Davy I can say don't bother. I know about 20 guys and girls who came in through the grad program and they're all worked to the bone and paid ****e. Davy is not a good company to work for, as they are owned by 100 heavily indebted equity holders and refuse to pay out fairly to others. You're far better off heading to London and trying your luck there. And yes, the HR in Davy is a joke.

just did the gia assessment for this the other day.... interviews are after xmas....

currently in 1st yr of a training contract with big 4 firm...anybody any advice as to whether jumping ship is a good idea? i just cant hack 3 years of accountancy exams and the ****e pay.

doyler could u shed any more light on why u think davy is so **** to work for.....surely it couldnt b worse than the big 4.
also whats the pay like in davy's?

i also heard that at the start of last summer they were ringing people they had previously rejected and were offering them positions. any idea the story behind that?

    cheers
