    Hi
I'm getting a kitchen for my new build and have been shopping around for designs and appliances now the kitchen company is trying to sell me a
Neff Multifunction oven with microwave & grill it will balance the single oven prefect but I'm a sceptic with anything new or combi so I'm wondering if anyone has experience or has advice about the product

If it's Neff the question probably isn't 'will it work?', more likely to be 'can I afford it?'.

Seriously, Neff are a well established kitchen appliance (usually built-in) manufacturer, if they sell it it will work but it will be at the top end of the price ladder alongside the Miele dishwasher.

I'd say that oven could be around 700-1000.

I have a similar dilema myself. I was looking at getting a bosch single oven and a bosch combination oven and microwave above. My main reason was to achieve an all over tidier look with 2 units rather than 3 stacked on top of each other. The price that I have been quoted for the combination oven is €890 which is more expensive than a double oven and separate microwave.

I assume the capacity should be the same as a normal oven (although I haven't seen it in a showroom)

    Decisions...decisions....

If it's going to be built-in, just make sure that it's a standard shape, do not lock yourself in to a Neff or other manufacturer oddball shape. When the time comes to repair or replace you will need to have a choice, otherwise if that oven/combi/microwave/whatever breaks after 3 years you could find yourself with very limited (if any) options except to go back to Neff to be fleeced once more.

Take a look at the Bosch, Siemens and other manufacturers built-in catalogues, check out the dimensions they cater to.

Kitchen companies are very fond of pushing Neff because the customer is attracted by the advantage of the 'one stop' shop and the kitchen company gets a hefty markup - caveat emptor.

The Neff and Bosch combi ovens are some of the best on the market so I wouldn't be too concerned about them being new technology as they've been around now for a few years.

There are different types of combi ovens, microwave and steam.

Both are like small single ovens, the microwave combi obviously has a microwave built in, and the steam combi is a steam oven too.

All combi ovens are 450mm high, single ovens 600mm and microwaves around 380mm. So if you have 2 tall units side by side and one has a single oven you could put a combi oven plus maybe a warming drawer (140mm) to match the exact size of the single oven.

Neff c57m79no combi microwave oven €849
Neff c47c62no combi steam oven €1,289

I looked into it and decided to go with two single ovens (siemens) they work well and keep the symertry I was after and i'm going to just put the microwave in the press. the grill space in the oven/grill/micro combi was tiny and just to much of a sacrifice so now I have two full grill and ovens and my wallet is also the better for it

I have also had a change of heart, I have decided to go with a single oven and a separate steam oven above it.... should be very healthy!

As tillie f said I think the overall symmetry looks a line neater.
