Don't forget Justin Bieber. Canada really shouldn't be allowed to have an opinion on music

if the word was 'N*gg*r' would people think it was pc gone mad?

Do you guys think 'fa ggot' is not offensive. Do you think that fa ggot being used as a general term of abuse in addition to the description of a sexuality is not offensive to people who happen to have that sexuality?

    I love canada.

I am 'of that sexuality' and I don't find it offensive at all. It's just a song ffs, and a 26 year old song at that. Try not to take one word/verse in a classic song and get offended by it.......

Gay people that get offended at the least little thing give all of us 'LGBT' people a bad name.

I can't stand it when people describe things a being 'ghey', in order to be disparaging. Can you imagine being a young person, unsure of your sexuality. Knowing little of it, but knowing it to be a general term of negativity.

You can call something gay without necessarily implying any negativity & you can call something gay, because it's, well.... just gay. Even gay men use the word in that context.

Words don't cause any harm - only how they are used that does, but I seriously doubt that saying something is gay is going to have any major impact on anybody's life either way, regardless of their age or sexual orientation.

And who's up there? What's that? Hawaiian noises, banging on the bongos like a chimpanzee...

I don't find the word "nigger" offensive. It only becomes offensive if it's used as a term of abuse.

Same with "Paddy" no matter who says it?

Again, it depends on the context or how it's said.

I have English mates who often call me "Paddy" or "Mick".. but I don't take it badly as that's not how it is intended.

However, if someone called me a "f*cking Paddy", that'd be a different story altogether.

Maybe you haven't had the same life experiences, as I have had. Maybe you shouldn't judge what you don't know. Maybe you're a pushover? What if I said you were just an ignorant paddy, would that offend you?

What if somebody doing something stupid or inane was constantly referred to as a 'bit Oirish'?

LOL This is flying around in circles. Bad to say fAgg0t. Dire straits rocks.
Canada has questionable taste in music. Gay is a derogatory term, unless used innocently. Celine dion is crap. Crash test dummies are unsure ( the y keep saying mmmmmmmmmmm) Neil young is a weirdo.
Thank god for pc world ;)

Because it contained the word "fagg0t"...

26 years ago I blew out multiple sets of speakers on this song.

I actually laughed this morning coming home from darts. I heard this song on the radio for the first time in many years and they were fading out the word '******' in the song.

Doesn't this make it even more noticeable by it's absence ?

good riddance , hopefully soon they'll come to their senses and ban The Catcher In The Rye , Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas and Dirty Harry (off the top of my head I cant tell you how many times i've collapsed on the floor in a snivelling heap after being reminded that 26 years ago a man in a sound booth say the big F word

actually I vouch we burn all art forms and start from scratch just to be on the safe side
