Probe launched after photographer's sick Facebook posts about Michaela Harte
    Monday January 24 2011
A newspaper photographer who posted vile messages on Facebook about tragic Michaela McAreavey is being investigated by the paper’s bosses.
Susanne Morrison — who takes pictures for the County Down Outlook weekly paper — ranted that she was “sick of hearing” about Michaela's murder because she could not see “what makes her so special”.
Susanne also made other sickening remarks which we are not repeating.
Bizarrely, she added that Michaela’s honeymoon murder was a case of “karma” and that “what goes around comes around”.
Rathfriland girl Susanne, a Rangers and Linfield fan who has 613 Facebook ‘friends’, posted on her wall: “Susanne Morrison is sick hearing about Makeala [sic] Hartes death!
“Thousands of people die terrible deaths every day through diseases and whatever so what makes her so special.
“Soldiers don’t get as much coverage as she has and they are risking their lives to protect us! Its about time this country got its priorities right!!!”

Barely newsworthy. Who gives a **** what some 19-yr-old photographer thinks?

Oxygen of publicity possibly not helpful.

Let the girl rest in peace.

A bitter, jealous, sectarian harlet. She should be sacked immediately.

She's entitled to her opinion. Sick and deluded? Hardly.

I'm really really annoyed at the Belfast Telegraph/Independent for publishing this on 2 grounds

    A. She's a nobody. How could highlighting the prejudice of one sectarian little tramp be worth grieving friends and family having to read this

    B. Its her f*cking facebook. That shouldn't be something a paper should go through in detail. Who gives a toss if she's in a group called ''being Protestant'' or supports Rangers/Linfield. The way the BT was harping on was sh*tstirring at best and incitement to violence at worst.

I know the Belfast telegraph is a gutter rag but even they shouldn't be trying to sell papers on the back of a family's misery.

    never buying either paper again.

Did you reckoned they mentioned the fact that she is a Glasgow Rangers and Linfield supporter just to stir it up?

Inarticulate, but I don't see anything particularly off with these opinions.

Of course. The bloody paper is a rag as has been highlighted many times. The Irish independant is like The Daily Mails bastard child.

This is Katie French all over again, expect the Indo to use any flimsy excuse to keep the Michaela Harte story running for as long as possible.

Probably. The thing is she'd hardly be the only one and the same would apply if it was Protestant that had been killed, some 'Catholics' would respond similarly. The thing is you wouldn't hear about it as if your choice of acquaintances is any good, you won't have them as friends on FB.

Why do they bang on about her being Protestant? I thought NI had moved on from all that crap, or at least the media had.

There is coverage of those things all the time! Ads on T.V and charities. It isn't the harte families fault that the media focused on their daughters death.

Well, I can answer it for her. People have no interest in the individual stories of soldiers dying since they have no real concept of war. Being on your honeymoon is easier to relate to. And also the fact that she was the daughter of an Irish celebrity helps.

Now it didn't take me much to work this out, but similarly I wouldn't feel the need to go on FB to cry on about it.

It was the same as when Princess Diana died and Mother Teresa died a week later. Guess which got the most coverage? That the way the media and public's hunger for celebrity works.

I would hope any right minded person wouldn't think those things.

I'm glad she was called out on it.

It will be a lesson for people on facebook and other social media sites who want to post sectarian rubbish that they may find themselves having to stand over what they say some day.

Or perhaps even on Vbulletin forums such as boards....

She expressed an opinion online. However idiotic her opinion is, she is entitled to it. The Independent is a gutter rag, and realistically facebook should not be used as a source of such comments anyway.

people will always have a difference of opinion. If everyone agreed on everything it would be very boring.

Boards is a different kettle of fish as it's anonymous. Anyone can see that.
