    Strenght in unity, people.

They should all get together and play the song at the exact same time on every station across theentire continent.

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

    What?

That really doesn't sound right, there's plenty of songs that have way worse language. Canada doesn't ban stuff for things like that, or at least, they didn't when I was there.

    I'm really lost.

They should ban faggots instead, they're sick.

    Ha, really? Those crazy Canadians.

God, if they did that here, we would have a giant thread about the repressive Catholic Church, English, Tesco, FF, place something that repress you here repressing Irish people and being backward and living in a fascist state.

    I hate that song though:mad:

But Brothers in Arms is great!

It's changed, man. The freekin' man is all over it, man. They're coming for you next, man.

How can you "ban" a song? Are the canadian gestapo/police forces going to charge into peoples homes if they suspect "money for nothing" is being played? I call bull****. A not too PC reference to apes should be pointed out too. Sure, words are evil after all.

The words aren't the problem, they are merely represented as Longitudinal waves in this instance. People are the problem.

26 years ago it was acceptable to use that term.
Guess they should ban the montreal comedy festival too, nasty words all over that!!!

    Dire straits rock!!!

Any time I hear this on Irish radio the verse in question is edited out. I'd rather that than banning the whole thing.

Forgot about that " bangin on them bongo's like a chimpanzee".
That must be the offending line.

They may as well ban the flat shading in the video. It's simplicity offends my eyes. This argument is basically the same as the one the PC brigade are trying to peddle.

the use of the word fággot?! i was watching Cruising last wk the old pacino flick where he goes undercover into a dark, seedy world of homosexuality.. the thought came to mind how did we reach a point where we now embrace homosexuality? indeed almost encourage it :/

The ironic thing is the word is uttered from the point of view of a moron, thereby implying that it's a moronic term.

    Canada didn't ban anything:
The CBSC 'a non-government industry group set up by private broadcasters to set ethical standards' sanctioned a station in St. John's, Newfoundland, where a complaint was made.
The CRTC, a federal watchdog group, have urged the CBSC to 'more thoughtfully examine the artistic intent' of the song.

And how is the guy potrayed as a moron, might I ask? Just because he is a foul mouthed working class individual? The word f.a.g.g.o.t is not associated with moronic traits, generally.
