Yes folks, whats it to be

1/ Juarez- Mexico... crime rate makes detroit look like aunt poppins city

2/ Bogota - Columbia .. Wanna be a lord mayor?

3/ Detroit - USA. c'mere USA style, but with guns

4/ Lagos - Nigeria - home or dr allubalah who owns you 20 Million (TWENTY MILLION) dollars, also home to several corpses behind bus stations

5/ Johannesbourgh - SA . where blacks and whites smoke dope together...

6/ erm, Limerick - Ireland.. ummmm, horse outside?

Juarez looks the daddy from what I know..

    any more nice friendly places...?

    Shi.t thread.

First of all it's COLOMBIA not COLUMBIA. I lived in Bogota for 3 months two years ago and it is a very safe city to live in irrespective of what is happening with the rebels and drug trade in the jungles.

The fact that Limerick is on this but no mention of Baghdad just shows it is totally fuc.king retarded.

With the exception of Ciudad Juarez I'm pretty sure more people were killed in Baghdad than all the above cities combined last year.

    EPIC FAIL!

AH, So I dont give a flying fluck if I had a typo, call the f|cking spelling cops.. .quick!!

As for Limerick, my horse outside jibe might lead the more astute onto the fact I was not all too serious.

Of course baghdad is a beautiful place, that why I asked for others posters comments on other cities.

and it cool if a letter is misplaced also

Los Angeles is fairly safe. .

    I agree.
    If you're visiting LA, follow these simple rules ;
    • Stay indoors at night
    • Drive everywhere
    • Avoid eye contact with any of the 260,000 gang members,

You should find it perfectly safe.

I'd love to go to Mexico but those stats aren't great. Are they gang deaths or something?

    I'd go with

    1. Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea
    2. Mogadishu, Somalia
    3. Kinshasa, Central African Republic
    4. Lagos, Nigeria
    5. Johannesburg, South Africa
    6. Capetown, South Africa
    7. Baghdad, Iraq
    8. Guatemala City, Guatemala
    9. Port Au Prince, Haiti
    10.Kingston, Jamaica

At this point, I would like to say certain things about Africa and its continued mismanagement, but I will only upset the politically correct liberals in here, who may believe that we should all hold hands, and sing Kumbayah. Papua New Guinea, Nigeria and Somalia are three that come to mind when it comes to my nasty right wing side. No further mention is worth an infraction or ban from any moderator who thinks I have overstepped the mark.

I live in Cape Town, the city itself is very safe for the most part. If you go wandering out into the townships on a dark night it's not very safe, but that's the case for virtually every city in south America and Asia too.

Also you do know that Papua New Guinea isn't actually in Africa

Anyone that knows Limerick knows it is not a dangerous city but don't let let the hype come in the way of the truth.

You know Papua New Guinea is in Australasia, right? You're not a complete imbecile, I take it?

Eh yeah, that's why there are thousands of Limerick folks streaming as refugees to safer climes like, eh Baghdad and Kabul, which don;t seem to appear on that list.

Holy Cow. Now that you mention it I've heard about some Drug baron who has been on the run for years.
Makes our "drugs war" look like a laugh. If some foreigners ever came over here to nick the business it would be no bother to them I'd say. It's there for the taking.
Ireland is the safest place in the EU in terms of murder isn't it?

That city has consistently been in the top five murder rates for at least a decade. Dodgy as fook.

I actually felt very safe in Washington when I visited. It has a serious drug and gang problem but it is very localised, mostly in the South East Area around Anacostia, a small section east of Capitol Hill and in the north of DC around Georgia Avenue. If you stay around New Downtown, Adams Morgan, Dupont Circle, Georgetown and the Metro etc. you'll be as as safe as any other major western city. Looking at it from an Irish perspective, how many tourists visited the Ballymun flats? It's the same in DC.

The only area that you may be around as a tourist that might give you cause for thought is possibly Old Downtown and the area east of Capitol Hill but in reality there's little that would make you want to visit these areas anyway.

Don't know are you being sarcastic here or not. :D

LA has a bad reputation in the media as a gang infested dump and while I agree that it is a kip, it's certainly not the same as visiting Baghdad. On the whole the main places tourists will be are as safe as most cities. Hollywood is quite sketchy away from the main section but there's no reason for you to be going down there anyway. Santa Monica and Venice beach are also safe and nice places to visit but do avoid the beaches at night time, they attract a certain type of crowd that you'd be better off avoiding. Beverly Hills, Sunset Strip, Malibu etc are all fine. Central Los Angeles is a smog infested dump so there's little reason to visit. Likewise the 'gang' areas of LA-South Central, Inglewood and East LA are most definately not places that most LA people would visit let alone tourists.

On the whole I thought the city is a boring dump but it certainly isn't anywhere near Johannesburg or Lagos.

Ever since you know who came to town :P I've heard it's always been pretty bad alright, such a contrast to the images of the Lincoln memorial, White House, Pentagon etc.

Heh, the time I was in Washington there was a guy walking up and down the street screaming: "Somebody give me a gun........PLEEEAAASSEE!!! I WANT A GUUUUNNN!!! AAAARRRGGGHH!!"

Followed by an endless stream of guys showing you their warez on the inside of their jackets in hope you'd buy the shoddy crap. :pac:
