    Hi all,

I'm considering changing my car and am looking at an estate for various reasons. I currently have a 325i SE (e90) which I love and am considering the 5 series M sport estate. I like the look of the estate in m sport and there's a few decent spec'd ones at not so bad prices in the garages. Just wondering if anyone has one and how they find the ride. I have 17's on my current car and the ride is fine although its SE and not m sport.

Also 520d is the most common engine and if I went for it I'd be worried that I'd be disappointed coming from a 325i petrol. I know I'd have better choice in UK but then I have to try and shift my own car which I'm sure wont be too easy.

Finally what are peoples thoughts on buying a previous generation model. I'm not mad about the new 5 although I hear the interior is suppose to be nicer and I think the M sport previous gen still looks good.

    Thanks all!

The F10 estate is a lot nice than the E60 imo. Even the SE looks ok. If you went msport on 19s in the E60 it would be ok for the driver but bad for rear seat passengers, which presumably you will have a lot is going for the estate.

Personally I think BMW have been well behind on estate design until the F10. Before now I would have always said a coupe or saloon then 3 or 5 series, an estate then an A4 or A6.

You will be dissapointed with the noise and clatter from the 520d coming from a 325i, but I guess you will get used to it. It's not much slower for day to day driving, but less fun pushing on reving etc. No revs to 7000 for you anymore!

Thanks Copacetic it does look well in the first photo alright. I do agree re the Audi estates but I'm not going back to FWD again! I wouldn't mind an A6 allroad but they kinda pricey! I think the normal A6 estate looks 'fat' and wallowey but that could be just me.
