Something funny happened tonight :D I was with my girlfriend and we were in the blanchardstown shopping centre. There is this old woman who sits outside sometimes asking for spare change (always carries a dog) ... its funny when we first passed her she was on a mobile phone chatting away lol ... next time we passed her "spare change please" :pac:

or the best one i've ever seen. Went into Spar in westmoreland street a year ago. 2am one thursday night. Outside was this guy in a sleeping bag. Cold as fu*k that night! he asks me for a smoke. Said sorry dont have any. I stand outside as I am sending a text when i start feeling bad for him ... so I say "its bleeding freezing mate" - he looks at me, takes out his ipod earphones, pauses it and says "yeah i know" :pac::pac::pac:

care to share any funny stories?

New sim free phone from Dunnes €24.99
New iPod shuffle from adverts €30
    Holier-than-thou self-righteousness... priceless....

I must be living with my mother or in school because i don't give a fcuk about the homeless  It's has nothing to do with the fact they are scumbags, these people weren't born homeless they are homeless because they are scumbags begging for money to get there fix

Leaving aside the grammatical errors in your sentence it's just factually inaccurate.

But then again I'm sure facts are something that you don't concern yourself with overly.

    I don't care.

You've clearly shown you have no clue what you're talking about.

Well see, Anonoboy, here is the thing.
I posted something, you debated it, then we debated it. I just think we have a difference of opinion. But you are continuously trying to prove you are right. Rather than just realising "everyones different" :)

so why dont you continue like the hammers of hell to prove to me, and anyone who posts "negitively" in the thread (negitive = different from you) how "wrong" we are :)

I voiced my opinion. You sure as hell voiced yours :) But I stopped a few pages ago. Realising we just have different opinions. Why dont you too :D

Well there's opinion and then there's facts.

I presented a few facts to answer your questions.

But you never answered my question, which is why you found this one guy so 'funny'.

That's one opinion of yours that you failed to explain. So we may have a difference of opinion on how this guy was 'funny' or not. I don't know because you failed to clarify why exactly you found him funny.

And I suspect I may never find out because you've realised now that a young guy on the street in the middle of the night isn't actually that funny at all. In fact it's quite sad.

And, seeing as you've already told us that a close relative of yours was homeless for a time, I suspect you've realised now that there's really nothing all that 'funny' about this guy's plight at all.

    Is that the case?

Could be the wrong term but something that is ironically funny.

Like a chinese guy coming up to you... total asian guy. Nothing funny about that. Of course not. But he opens his mouth and has the biggest skanger dublin accent ever :D You saying you wouldnt smile a little? if not on the outside, but on the inside? :D

Guy sleeping outside, asks you for a smoke, you say you have none ... but seconds later feel bad so you talk to him. He stops and removes his ipod headphones and pauses it only to reply to you :D

That's not actually irony but I do know what you mean.

So you have admitted that the lad might actually be homeless and the fact that he has an iPod doesn't mean he's a scam artist who just loves scamming people so much that he's willing to sit out at night in the cold to trick them?

    Ok.
There is voicing your opinion (how you feel someone is wrong) and trying to prove to someone like the hammers of hell you are right and THEY are wrong :)
its 3.05am on a friday night (technically saturday morning :D ) and your up giving it loads trying to convince a guy who dont know on some message board about how wrong he is (or lets be honest, how much of a fool i am ? :P)

Well sir, im calling you sir now :( because you are clearly the President of the "I am right, you are wrong" club... While moonlighting as captain of the moral police. .. oh how did you get those jobs anyways? :( is it like an online application or something?

I predict your response to be

    A, calling me immature.
B, saying i dont know what im talking about
c, realising that i dont care what you say (meh you're not going to pick that one :P )

I think i know what's upsetting AnonoBoy so much he is the homeless person you saw on the street and he is posting on boards from his mobile phone :D

You seem to think I'm sitting up just to prove you wrong. I've got lots that's keeping me up, this argument is just a minor distraction.

But I will say that throughout this whole thing you have quietly refined your point from 'aha ha ha I saw a homeless person with an iPod - how funny is that? And he's probably not homeless' to 'isn't it slightly wryly amusing that someone who is homeless might have an iPod'.

I've pointed out why someone without a home could have a mobile phone and, despite you saying that you had a relative who was homeless for a period, you seem to be strangely unable to understand why someone might have one.

I'm perfectly willing to listen to an opposing side to my points. It's just that you haven't really made any decent ones at all.

That's alright. Learn to act like a human being to those less fortunate than you (monetarily-wise at least) and you will be. You can do it. We're all behind you.
