Flu, have you had it this winter?

    The place is rife with flu at the moment, everybody seems to have it or had it recently.

    My public service friends seem to get it worse somehow because they seem to have to stay in bed longer with it to recover. [/unnecessary dig]

    I have not got it yet, luckily, actually, i don't think I've had a flu in about 5 years!?

    Nope, haven't had it in years. Just a few MAN FLUs that nearly killed me.

    Everyone does seem to have it alright though,
    hate the f*ckers that start sneezing everywhere with it and not covering there mouth AND washing their hands.

    HAd it about 2weeks ago for about a week. Taut I had a terminal illness I felt dat bad. 1st time gettin it in yrs so I guess I woz due a bout of it

    yeah. i don't even need to cover its self contained. slight emmision through the nasal cavity.. but my brother, that polite feigned gesture of covering will never work. must be some serious orgasms goin off in his head judging by the spray

    Nah lots of folk confusing having a cold with the proper flu (which is actually quite a lethal virus) which is debilitating.

    I was in a queue at the bank last week & overheard someone behind proudly saying oh ive had the flu 4 times in the last 6 months.:rolleyes: Really? Bullsh!t!, you'd be dead. Or else theres something very wrong with your immune system. Probably bum disease.

    Yes I got ahead of the pack and had mine in early December. Sneezing is not a flu symptom by the way.

    Lucky you. Had a flu and a cold over winter. Haven't had the flu for years. A lot of my family had either a flu or cold this winter. I blame the bad wheather!

    i guess tru flu is when you can barely leave the bed let alone the house due to to muscle groups being rendered useless leaving you to slog it out in your sweaty swamp. apocalyptic visions n thoughts of ivy creeping in the window and consuming your electronics

    Think you mean the common cold. Yes I've got it once so far this winter.
    I had the flu once and I was in bed for about 3 weeks, was absolutely miserable.

    I've had what i think a lot of people are confusing with a flu this winter - the worst cold i've ever had. Took two weeks to shake the bastard, but a stroll in the park compared to the flu i caught 2 years ago.

    Having not had anything remotely like a cold or flu for about thirty five years, I got what I presume was some sort of flu on new years eve.

    I'm saying it was flu, because most of the people I know also went down with similar and they said it was flu. But, it was nothing like how I remember flu. My bones didn't ache.

    I just crawled into my pit and passed out for seventeen hours! :eek: Woke up at 2 AM. Fed my Dogs and horses. Back to the pit. Died for another fourteen hours! Crazy stuff!

    Spent the rest of the week simply completely devoid of the energy to do Anything. Minor bit of chest congestion. That was about it.

    Funny; I gave up smoking, november 2009, after forty years. I wonder ..... :confused:

    Don't think I've ever had a flu. Have had a few bad colds though, but it's not the same thing really.

    Is anybody that's had or has the flu getting stomach aches? I'm over the worst of it, came on me all of a sudden last Friday, but I've still got no energy, I'm wheezing, coughing and also have a really dodgey stomach. I'm wile to get pished tonight since it's been over a week since I had a tipple but I'm not even able to :mad: I'll try tho :D The tiredness and coughing I can deal with .. but feeling sick all the time is cutting in to my social life now and that's not cool.

    Doc said the flu starts in your head (no runny nose or sneezing tho, that's a cold) then travels to your chest and possibly your stomach .. that must be what's happening to me now. Anyone else? How long will that feeling last?
