Hair has always played a major role in politics, we can never forget Hair Hitler and his work on partings, and there was the Whig Party in the UK, which had to change its name to Liberal Party because people insisted on calling the members baldy when they were spotted in the street.

    Whats your definition of innocent?

Thats a too black and white a way to look at things tbh, innocent people die in wars, does that make every war wrong?

Stop trying to defend the indefensible man.

Doubt it, although he probably had an ol' peddle and crank thinking about it.

I tried to pull her once, she politely declined!
I was quite intoxicated at the time.
Still, her loss, could have been the best 3 and half minutes of her life;)

They want to turn Ireland into a European Cuba. Nevermind that Cuba is fcuked and are desperately trying to change themselves before they collapse (with full recognition of the US's ridiculous persecution of Cuba).

First off I'm probably not going to vote for Sinn Fein but Christ on a bike this is so ridiculous it almost isn't worth replying too..

Look on websites and at parties where people actually do want to turn Ireland into a chilly Cuba and openly state that. Eirigi/Irish Republican Socialist Party(PW of INLA)/Irishrepublican.net etc

These people have nothing but contempt for SF. SF are not socialist. They are capitalists in the form of social democrats. They believe in state ownership of many bodies and more support for the welfare state but that is not socialism. Sinn Fein would never push for a controlled economy or all the workers getting the same wage.

If you can't get SF to bring people like those who butchered Robert McCartney to justice, how can you put them in charge of the Justice ministry in the ROI? Things that happened in the 70's I can forgive/forget. Stuff that happened in the 90's I can't do either tbh. And stuff that happened 2 or 3 years ago...no way Jose.

I'm not interested in the politics of condemnation.
I have brothers and sisters who were murdered. I have friends. Both sides of the community have suffered their tragedies.

The politics of the past have failed. Let's try again.
Why don't we condemn all the people from all communities who've killed in all the butcher shops across all of europe.

Mary Lou McDonald SF candidate for Dublin Central in the forthcoming G Election

Last time she ran it was brought up repeatedly that she was and seems still is a parachute candidate

Why Dublin Central? Can't she represent the area where she lives?

I'd like my elected reps to live in my area

All I did was ask for your definition of "innocent" in the context of the troubles, simple as. It differs from person to person. Some would say that the RUC, BA etc where innocent, some not.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,650 ✭✭✭✭MrStuffins

That may be the case, but I never specified which people who died were innocent.

You deny that people who were completely innocent and had no hand in any kind of "troubles" were killed?

No, and no one in any way familiar with my posts on this subject would say that. Obviously many innocents where killed, but simply to say "they killed innocent people" without any reference to the context of the day is disingenuous.
Thats like saying the allies killed innocent people in WW2 and ignoring the reasons and context which led to those deaths.

He clearly needs to modify his attitude to killing babies, and learn to accept or indeed like it.

Not that you're being hysterical or anything....

That's a terrible thing to say. The Allies weren't aiming to kill innocent people - they were fighting nazis.

Christ the thought of this sanctimonious UN educated and naive Mrs Loo being reelected turns my stomach. A failed politician who has as much grasp on Irish politics as a donkey, she has managed to keep a high profile by turning up at every press conference sinn fein has had for the past year (Most notably at stormont). Who does she actually represent, in fact what does she represent.

There is no new Mrs Loo, just the same moaning, cringe inducing individual wearing new frocks and hair doo's!

Is maith an scáthán súil charad.

Mary Lou McDonald SF candidate for Dublin Central in the forthcoming G Election can be seen in local newspapers with adverts appealing for a vote. The thing I noticed was the new hairstyle on Mary Lou.

    Anyone else seen it.

Here's an old one of her

Haven't been able to find most recent pic of Mary Lou. Anyone seen it, opinions.

Damn those allies for winning ze war.

Not my point, as you well know.

It is interesting to note, however, that the crimes of Germany in both wars, apart from the attempted extermination of the Jews, were the kind of thing that the other imperial powers conducted a 'civilised' distance away in Asia, Africa etc.
