Having not done Irish in school, I want to start learning the language but can't seem to find any websites that offer free audio tutorials. I did stumble on this youtube webpage, http://www.youtube.com/user/YourHowToDo, which offers some basic Irish words. Does anybody have any suggestions to solve my problem? Thanks in advance :)

There is a learning Irish Thread at the top of the page with some links.

I would suggest you join a Ciorcal Comhrá(conversation Group) in your local area if there is one, this will give you an opportunity to use your Irish. Also Watch TG4 and listen to RnaG as much as possible.

There are books/CD's available for you to learn from, you can get these in most large Bookshops.

Two places to at least take a start:

    http://www.erinsweb.com/gae_index.html

    and

    http://groups.yahoo.com/group/philo-celticsociety/

The latter is surprisingly very active. Hope they help!

I joined that celticsociety group. It wasn't for me. I can't get alot of time online. The whole of the first year is dedicated to sounds and pronunciation. In other words, if you don't live at the computer you can't do any studying or homework.
