DCU Campus Parcel

I live on dcu campus and I ordered some controllers over the internet. It turns out I have to pay VAT on them which is annoying but not the problem. Normally when you get a parcel the accommodation office accepts it and then puts a little note in your box saying to collect it. However I have to pay the postman directly in cash or cheque. Does anybody know can I give the money to the accommodation office to hold and give to the postman or something like that. If I don't I will have to go to the post office depot which is far from the end of the world but still a nuisance especially during the exams. Another option would me to wait around at the accommodation office until the postman comes and hope that he has the parcel on the right day.

Has anybody been in a similar position?

AFAIK all post for DCU comes into a central sorting office (which used to be under the library) and is distributed from there. I doubt the postman will ever end up at the accommodation reception. Perhaps you should ring the sorting office in Whitehall and ask them?

    I had the same situation.
campus res desk held the money for me. They seemed fairly familiar with the situation.
you need the exact change though, or close enough it cos you won't get anything back from the delivery guy.

Post comes to the estates office over between the helix and shanowen road. Drop over to them and they should be able to help you, they were pretty helpful last year when I was ordering stuff
