Pushfit (John Guest fittings) pipe repair kit?

Anyone know where I can find these in Ireland? Or somewhere that ships here?

Screwfix does not according to their website.

I have a burst pipe to repair. It's a copper pipe so is this even suitable?

I dont know to be honest. Heatmerchants are john guest agents

But if it were me i would be buying

2 no 1/2" 310's and a meter of pex

if its metric

I would buy 2 no 610's as well and just change the olives

Dont forget the pex inserts.

B & Q wouldn't stock JG fittings. I second what Joey said, be cheaper then JG

I do know what John Guest is because I use them in my Kegerator for my beer lines.

1/2" 310s are straight connectors with brass nuts

610s are the metric equivialient which you might need

Pex is short for qualpex pipe which is pipe used instead of copper.

that shows you all you need, 2 straight connectors and a bit of pipe

but more importantly what is a kegerator and how can it improve my life:D

you could try a brass repair fitting, looks just like a normal 310 (brass compression fitting) but is approx 4" long and has no centre stops, perfect for burst pipes and the likes, as long as the 'split' is no more than 2" long, just cut the pipe slide the fitting on and tighten up, available in all good builders providers

Would you have to use a compression fitting or would a couple of tectite straight connectors do the job? I'm trying to learn a bit about plumbing!

I have never seen metric tec tite in ireland but yes if its imperial yes tectite will work fine. It would be simular to the john geest fitting which is also push fit.

Well I found all the stuff I needed at Atlantic. More expensive than the UK of course but at least I got it.
I repaired the burst pipe this morning and no more leaks. Only thing is, when I tested it there was no heat from the radiator that the plumber terminated. I rejoined the pipes (cold and hot) and cut out/replaced the burst part.

Odd.... will worry about it some other time.

edit never mind, it was probably thermostat keeping it off as it was already warm enough. It is working now that the heating has kicked in again on the regular timer.

Ive bought John Guest fittings from Aquasoft Ireland in dublin. There located in santry and have a good selection.
