Has MW2 been hacked?

Just went into a TDM, screen started to flash, loads of text on the right hand side and I jumped from rank 35ish up to 70 over the course of about 20 seconds, all of the "you've been promoted" announcements appearing one after the other! And a big flashing purple DRUGS FTW blinking in the middle of the screen.

Has this anything to do with the encryption key that was discovered for the PS3 recently.

What a PITA.

seems theres now alot of public challenge lobbies. gone up 3 prestiges by randomly joining them so far.

Not sure what you are asking, but it was in a game itself, estate to be exact, every single challenge, weapon & perk has been unlocked. What a pisser, the challenge is what keeps me addicted!

Hope this is not the beginning of a troubling time for the PS3!

You went into a lobby where the person hosting it, had hacked it. This has been going on for well over a year, and isn't because the PS3 has been hacked but because MW2 was.

Well I play it regularly, and have done since release day and have never seen anything like it, logged off and went back in again and the same thing happened.
Is there any way to avoid these dodgy lobbies?

Can someone in the know explain what's happening please?

The game's glitched to **** is what's happening. The security used to prevent hacking is so **** 10 year olds with slight know how can hack into it and create a 10th prestige lobby (all challenges and **** is unlocked), as well as being able to fly, have infinite noobtubes, etc...

I'd agree that this game was pretty fun but the novelty wore off for me when every lobby i came across had at least 4 hacked 10th prestigers.

You'll have to start from scratch if you want to do it properly. You've been ****ed over, nothing you can do now only report people in the lobby you were in.

Its due to the ps3's security been cracked open, anybody with limited computer knowledge can run these hacks which is going to be a problem for alot of ps3 games going forward unless sony can lock them out from connecting online like MS are doing with Jtags.

I wouldnt expect much to be done unless sony can sort it out through a firmware update

If you play S&D you'll see less hacking due to the lack of respawning.

Has MW1 been over run with hackers too?

Treyarch just aren't at the races when it comes to the COD gaming experience I played BLOPs for about 6 weeks tried very hard to like it, same with WaW they just don't look, sound or play as nice as the IW games, get bored and went back to MW2, have been playing it since December and hadn't seen a hacked game until last night, I'm gutted my favourite game franchise is potentially ruined in one foul swoop.

No matter which other PS3 games I play I always end up putting a MW disk back in.

I've been thrown into hacked lobbies twice this week. The first time was in Favela and the screen started flashing mad colours. One guy killed me so i looked at the killcam: He was flying about at a mad speed with no guns in his hands, just his fingers pointed like guns and was getting shots off left right and centre. The team names changes too. Then last night i was thrown into one again. Estate and i ended up with akimbo thumpers. I left sharpish because it just isn't fun! Its pointless!

yep, COD 4 has been hacked for a long time without a patch, mainly with speed lobbies. I just back out and try another lobby/game mode.
However today it was awful, domination regular and groundwar were full of hacked lobbies; speed,infinite ammo,super jumps,prestige hacks, etc. Total nightmare.

Was playin mw2 last night and one game had the super jump hack and one guy who whenever he would shoot, an ac 130 round would come down where he was pointing. Chaos.

was in one last night where a guy on the other team would teleport every other player to where he was and just kill everyone, completely ruining the game.

This is probably the end of MW1 and 2, if thats the case I'm getting BFBC2 now its cheap, cant be arsed with Blops

seems to be every game though, and theres hacked messages with youtube channels and crap like that scrolling across the bottom of the screen as soon as you go into a match type on the MP, fcuk sake.

Easy to say that here.

You like playing SnD Kev. So just imagine every lobby being hacked and that being the only game type you really want to play! Likewise Sabotage(only other game type I'd play in COD4).

Got into a lobby yesterday and there was this guy going around as a F22(airstrike), yes a ****ing F22! He had the RPG attached on top of it, unlimited ammo, speed hack, invisible hack and invincible hack.

I was flipping out at this ****er on the mic. I presumed he'd be a kid until he turned on his mic, sounds like he is in 20s.

Ugh, every gametype is hacked, saw one guy running around with an aimbot, and every time he shot someone some stupid messages would pop up on the screen.

ugh went on it for the first time in ages. first snd lobby i went into and it reset all my stats. turbo gay now i must say! what fun do they get in just running around and pressing one button and winning the game? :mad:

A bit pointless doing that just to get reactions IMO. Can they not just play the game and enjoy a bit of decent fun?
