Toshiba A660 Intel Core i7 Overheating

As some of you may know from my recent thread in the laptop sub-forum I recently purchased a Toshiba A660-1FM Intel Core i7 laptop.

Unfortunately the laptop is at a high temperature - minimum of 45 degrees.

When I play a game on it such as FM11 the laptop tends to overheat and turn itself off.

It's a fairly high end laptop - is it normal for them to run so hot?

Any suggestions on how to stop it from overheating? Should I bring the thing back - it was purchased at Christmas.

Bring it straight back to the place of purchase.
