I love Mayo people. They wave at you when you drive past whether they know you or not, they speak with a lovely soft accent, they always offer you a bite to eat when you visit and are good for a laugh.

Not if your a "black and tan sasnach f*cker out to steal your land"

I am biased but think my own County Kerry is by far the best being the tourism capital of Ireland.

I'd have to say Kerry...maybe its the accent that has something to do with it?

How exactly do you measure the open mindedness of a county??!!

I was in Waterford once and an aul one said the use of condoms is wrong. Does that bring them down in the open mindedness rankings!?

Yep, its pretty pathetic, but thats what people do. They have one or 2 pleasant/unpleasant encounters, then find out the country they were in and then deem every single other person within that region as being identical. The second your foot crosses a certain border you can expect either a stabbing or a friendly hello.

It reminds me of secondary school, a lad would go off with some young one from a parituclar girls school and then it is gospel -every girl from Lorreto is a fucking dirty slut. Some other lad gets nowhere -every girl from that school is a tight frigid bitch.

Having been to every county in Ireland except maybe Laois and Carlow, I can say...these threads are pretty retarded. The counties and country is too small to hold a huge diversity of attitudes that you can ascribe to one area over another that is only a few miles down the road.

It ain't the place that's friendly or open, it's yourself and the circle of people you move in.

I see threads such as these as more of a comment on the open-mindedness of the OPs, and those who actually think they're worthwhile, than anything else.

ouch. that hurts. gonna take a look at your thread lists. :D

anyway, bit of fun, no one's life is a stake (yet).

so 2 for Clare 4 for Galway* 4 cork and 4 kerry. (dublin doesnt count, as dublin county is more of a big riding stable than anything else :D )

when mentioning Galway, posters are of course thinking of the county and the locals therein i take it? (not)
