I think one of the reports (Irish Times - though I'm not 100% certain) claims she was killed whilst on Honeymoon. And other reports say she was found dead. I think this is where the speculation is coming from. The poor families.

She was on honeymoon, just got married on december 30th.

Terribly sad news, just saw a picture of them on their wedding day and she looked stunning and so happy.
May she rest in peace and thoughts with all her family.

    What an idiotic post.
The excuse "Oh its After Hours what do you expect" will no doubt be used. I don't care what forum it is that's still callous and low.

RTÉ and Independent are both reporting that she was "killed" as well.
Not really, a statement from her family is being quoted which says she "was killed", what a family says just after losing their daughter probably shouldn't be taken without considering their predicament. A poor choice of words more than likely.

She was a genuinely nice girl.
Was a devout Christian , never smoked or touched a drink.
Was very close to her dad Mickey and my heart goes out to her family
    and her new husband.

    RIP

There's moderator karma when you pull people on the type of posts you're commenting on. Madness.

Guys, started thread simply to highlight the terrible terrible news, all comments have their place, (silly ones and all) but back on track now I presume.

poor poor John (husband) off to honeymoon and the start of his marital life, returning home a widower.

I'm sure the early jokes had no malice in them.

Thoughts are with friends and family of the deceased.

    R.I.P

The article uses the word "killed" which implies that she was murdered by someone.

    Not speculating, just saying.

It does in it's hoop. She could have been killed by carbon monoxide, killed by an insect bite, killed by a heart attack

Jesus wept. I don't know whether to laugh or cry.

Jesus wept. Occupation: barrister. I don't know whether to laugh or cry.

To be fair to OisinT I read "killed" and immediately speculated aswell. It is unusual in a report like that.

In your above examples you would usually say "die from". I'm not saying it's murder or anything, but it is an unusual turn of phrase.

Terrible news. I'm currently reading his book on the way home from work. Finished up on the part where she sent him a card after losing the Ulster S.C final to down. Anybody who's read the book will know the part. Got into my car after getting off the bus and then I hear the tragic news.

May she rest in peace. Thoughts go out to all of the Harte family and her husband.
