Small visual bug/issue with the new version.

The text on the "Send SMS" button is cut-off at the bottom as if its been pushed down one line too far.

Other than that it looks all good so far, no other issues on my HTC Desire.

Grand thanks. I'll make the button a bit bigger

works perfect on stock nexus one. first use it sent but then came up with a FC, i hit wait and it worked straight away. no issues since.

I confirm the apostrophe issue i was seeing is resolved and also I like the characters have been moved and also that the number of texts remaining has its own area.

the box becoming bigger to make use of screen estate is great too.

all in all GREAT job Sam!:D

    Thank you :)

The FC with the wait option was probably just the server being slow

Is there plans for Cabbage to support the eMobile web messaging service?

I just tested the new version on the HTC Legend and Samsung Europa.
It now appears in the Market for the Samsung so no need for the manual installation.
Contacts are working fine on both devices here and I like the new features.
    Great work - thanks.

Thanks for taking on the maint of this! Great to see some updates coming through.

I installed the new version from the market today on my HTC Desire running O2's version of 2.2. It's working very well for me so far.

I see the same issues as above with the text overrunning the bottom of one of the buttons, but that's no biggie.

I like the new contact picker, works really well. I would love to see the recent button make a come back at some point but again not a biggie now that the contact picker is working so well.

Overall a big thank you & looking forward to more updates!

Just installed it on my FroYo Desire. Multiple recipients works perfectly.

The messages save to the existing thread of messages sent/received from the regular phone messager.

    Thanks a million, you're a sound man.

    Aido

The function is still there, it's just a menu option instead of a button. Or did you know that.....?

Yeah I should have mentioned that as a feature. You can send to multiple recipients by separating them with a comma :)

I'm new to Andriod, but find this app really good.

Works perfect on my HTC Desire HD on Vodafone.

I've just released a new version to the Android market. Try it out and see if it fixes most of the problems that have been reported.

almighty1, have you imported your contacts from your sim card into google? You do it by going into your contacts and pressing menu->Import->from sim card (or similar depending on your handset)

Thanks Sam. The new update has fixed it. Didnt need to touch google.

Thanks a million for this great app :D

Have installed the app and ran through set up but when I try to send a message I get "invalid username and password"..

I made up a user name and used the same password I use to access Vodafone on Line.....

any ideas what I am doing wrong?

username and password should both be the same as the vodafone site. so your username should be your phone number and the password you have used already for the site and inputed.

    Thanks a mill ryderster.

The original app was done by ryderster but the update was done by me. He doesn't have the time for the app anymore with his work commitments so I've taken it over :)

I'm going to be coming out with an update in the next few days but I'd like a few people to test it out for me first. The updates are:
    1. Client side messaging, ie a direct connection to the network website without the intermediate server being used. The default is still to use the server but it's an option in the new settings menu.
    2. A black theme option
    3. The recent button is back due to popular demand
    4. The name of the account in use appears on the main screen
    5. The failed and sent messages are stored in a new format. You shouldn't notice any difference but I'd like people to look at their "Failed messages" (currently called outbox) and sent messages to make sure that they're appearing in the right date order with the newest at the top
    6. A big red question mark on the accounts page that people can press to find out where to get the password. You'd be surprised at the number of people who get the app not knowing where to get the password. And then give it one star on the market because they don't know how to use it
    7. Better error handling that makes errors obvious and makes it clearer as to what might be wrong
    8. The server side script to use for sending messages is configurable. Which only matters if you don't have it set to make a direct connection to the network site of course.
    9. A button to verify an account before adding it

I don't want to post the link out or put it on the market yet so if anyone wants to test it out for me pm me please.

And does anyone have any other suggestions?

Hey Sam, The only suggestion i'd have if it was possible for the app to receive txts. ie. have an inbox or display conversations?

    Just a thought. Thanks again.
