Well, people who tend to pull up the whole "what about this" posts, tend to be the ones engaged in faux outrage. Surely, it would make more sense to post a new thread for the above, or post in one that already exists?

Aside from the fact that she will hopefully live, the wonderful benefit of her being shot is that it might change her from being pro-guns to anti-guns. There needs to be serious clampdowns over there.

An episode of Star Trek: Voyager once showed Tom Paris, one of the crew, being found guilty of murder. The punishment was that he would forever see what happened from the person who got murdered's eyes. Same thing in Minority Report. This is what should happen, he should forever and ever have that image played through his head.

I'd say it is likely that youtube account posted above does belong to him. I'm not an expert but from his videos I would blindly speculate that he has some sort of disorder.

Well since we're hazarding wild guesses, I would speculate the gunman is a one legged albino midget from Kansas City, with a passing interest in sudoku and extreme ironing. But I could be wrong there.

I think it's worth pointing out here folks, that a lot of people recently have been calling for the blood of politicians, even in this country. The time of the student protests and trouble outside the Dail there was a right bloodlust in the air, and there was plenty of talk of storming the Dail and hanging politicians. I freely admit that I even contributed in one post after watching the Prime Time special on developers.

Today is what happens when someone takes that seriously. Be careful what you wish for, you just might get it.
Let that be a lesson.

The rhetoric in that video is very much of a Libertarian bent; and there is quite a bit of cross-pollination/common-ground between self-styled Libertarian's and the Tea-party.. eg Rand Paul etc..

You seem to have missed the tongue in cheek reference in my post.

What I was trying to say is that there isn't much point in idle speculation-we'll only end up going round and round in circles. We've already had the congresswoman declared dead, then alive thanks to idle speculation.

We should try to keep to facts.
