Just looking to know your opinions on Electronic Fox caller vs traditional Mouth Caller.

Electronic callers, some are quite expensive and a pain in the ass to carry round but seem to work as well .

Do they do a better job than a plastic/metal mouth caller such as a squealer? or your mouth to the palm of your hand?

I personally like to use Styrofoam on a piece of glass and the back off my hand to squeal for foxes but i was interested in knowing was an electronic caller more better than the traditional ways of calling in foxes, Any opinions?

Can you bark like a Vixen? If not then an electronic caller is more useful especially this time of year.
Low tech is good, and I am a member of the KISS camp but sometimes electrickery is very good when dealing with an animal wilier than bertie.

i used to think much the same as you however after buying a u caller i have learned to have some respect for it , as i mainly use it for mr charles the first thing i did was reprogramme it with some better squeels and squeeks along with a more realistic vixen skirl and dog fox bark (all available on't net)
the beauty of it is simple you can stick it in a differnt location to your own and work it with the remote , this means that the annimals focus isn't on you but on the call source makes life a lot easier in my book next stop one of those predator enticers that too work on remote

the younger foxes can be usually called fairly easy, any method that makes a squeek.
The older ones will not be fooled easily unless you have a good electronic caller..best to mix it up if possible

The lads I go out with have tried various different electronic callers without success. We think they are useless! Someday we might have some rewards using technology. But notting beats cheap effective callers.
We use old skool methods like back of the hand, aero board and mouth callers to great effect. We have great sport, its all in the timing of the sqeaks and the use of the lamp. Team work is involved. We've got 8 foxes the last two nights out.
