What county or town in Ireland produces the most ignorant and abrupt people?

My job takes me through the 32 counties in Ireland, and as such, I tend to build up a fairly good idea of how a persons personality will be, based soley on where they come from. (its not always spot on mind!)

I think that some towns, and indeed some whole counties produce more ignorant hures than others do.

So its time to name and shame Counties and towns you believe have ignorant, rude, and downright abrupt muck savages in it.

I go'll first, the county I would say has one of the most abrupt people would definitely be Monaghan! The folk there seem to always be rude, have a chip on their shoulders and be very abrupt and to the point, with a ' I'm a very important person' attitude all the time! (abrupt and honestly may be good things some time, but not when hurting someones feelings)

Now, the town I would like to name and shame will be Arklow, county Wicklow!
I have about 6 clients in Arklow, and for the size of the place, I find it more than a coincidince that each one of them 6 men have the worst attitudes on this earth!
they are never happy, whinge about every little thing they can think off, and again, have this attitude of 'I'm more important than the rest of your customers, so fcuk them, and get your hole to Arklow now!'

Sorry anyone I might have offended here, might be stereotypical of me, but merely my observations!

I know a few "country people" (from small towns) and they all say the best people leave the towns and the people that remain...

But I don't know if that's true or not.

    Ignorant people are everywhere tbh.

Dunno Dublin? Many rich stuck up people. But due to the large population, there's also a large variety of people from good to bad...

Also which town has most number of scumbags? Its probably that one...

Actually according to some surveys they did Bray is the ****test town.

Then Tralee, funnily enough Kerry was the best county to live in though.
Me, living in Kerry, outside of Tralee, would have to agree :)

I am from Drogheda. I've said it before and I'll say it again. If you ever wanna see a nuclear dump full of headers go to Drogheda not Chernobyl.

Well as you say Arklow i have to disagree most of the traders in Arklow would go out of there way for anyone, and the people aswell. im not an Arklow man but live about 4 miles away and its a fantastic town maybe it could be you your attitude towards them.

Yeah, i'll take that back. Dublin people are actually some of the nicest in Ireland on the whole. Just some of the south side and posh people can be very stuck up which is rather annoying. You know those kids who wear abercrombie, american eagle and all those brand clothes, blond usually hair, they all pretty much look the same and speak with the same accent.

I used to find Galway and Mayo people very nice as well. Though haven't really been there much since the recession so don't know how much people changed there.

And the bizarre obsession with attributing characteristics, both good and bad, to people based on where they're from/what the area looks like... goes on... and on...

Used to live there, will never forget the night when a lot of hiaces were turned over and some unwelcome 'visitors' were literally kicked out of the town

You do it too. You are human. We all judge. We all have prejudices.

I accept you may not do it on a discussion forum.

I accept that, but you do think "he looks like a scumbag, he's probably a scumbag".

It's the same thing, it's just a bit more socially acceptable.
