Paris... love love love it. Especially in late Winter or early Spring, when you're all wrapped up, just wandering the streets and people watching. Such a lovely atmosphere there. I'd love to go back this year!

Paris, Leuven, Bonn, Hannover, La Rochelle, New Haven, Prague, New York,...and many more. Different places better for different things.

Chicago needs to be put on here. I've been to about quarter of the list and it's the best I've seen. Los Angeles is a kip.

I am not a city person at all, need the wide open spaces to be happy. At the moment I live in a estate in a small village, and even this I find over powering most of the time, claustrophobic actually.

I have picked NYC as it is the only city I have been in that I could actually see myself living in for a while.

Thats me a bundle of contradictions.

Yes, really, I'm sure there are some misguided soul's out there who haven't traveled (outside of Ireland) and would vote for it.

    Is that you Paul Galvin?

I voted Rome but I actually think it's Florence, such a lovely relaxed city. But my favourite place is Cortona in Italy and sitting on the rocks at the bottom of the cliffs on Galley Head. Both just perfect :-)

san fran is hands down nicest city in the states, manhattan is cool but it has nothing on the bay area

no mention of istanbul on this thread makes me a sad panda

I was sure I was going to like San Fran also, but I didnt. Not sure why I think it was the level of homeless people in all of the public parks etc.

    "Ohhhhhh... I am a Liverpudlian
And I come from the Spion Kop
I like to sing, I like to shout
I go there quite a lot

We support a team that plays in Red
It's a team that you all know
It's a team that we call Liverpool
And to glory we will go"

Paris! Spending my birthday there this year with friends. :D
I've always thought I'd love New York too.

Few shouts for Berlin, I see. Definitely next of my to do list – it’s pretty much the Techno capital of the world and something of a Mecca if you’re into that kind of thing.

Don’t fancy the possibility of getting through one of the notorious 3-hours queues for the bigger clubs only to be turned back at the door, though, if that sort of thing’s as common as I’ve heard.

And no love at at all for poor old Manchester. Was there for the New Year and quite liked the place.
