The Christmas music seems to be gone now. Don't they know there's eleven days left of Christmas?

I now officially hate mazda mx5's. Nothing worse than winning an event and getting another poxy mx5.

And the Veyron not being premium is a disgrace. The Prius is premium, but the fecken Veyron isn't!

Whats the difference between premium and standard?

premium cars are fully detailed and have interior views. standard cars have no interiors and are straight from gt4 with maybe slight improvements.

most of them still look good though its only when you see a standard and premium in the same race it really shows up.

The races I get, won most of them and it's rewarding. But for drift and time trial it just seems to upload my record and that's it. I noticed that the event closes at a certain date. So when that happens do they calculate the results and reward anyone who got a certain score/time?

They really need to explain this I think.

the drift and time trail are just leaderboards, if you do good everyone will see, thats about it.No rewards just a good time to show off

dunno if its been suggested but anyone fancy setting up a little star in a reasonably priced car type comp for the top gear track :D

What 'racing car' have folk used for the races which feature them? The Gillet Vertigo Race Car is the cheapest by far but I imagine it's probably rubbish in comparison to the Le Mans racers like the Audi, Peugeot and so on. Has anyone tried the '89 Nissan?

I don't want to plonk down a few million on a heap of crap.

i bought the formula GT and i was able to use it for the jap touring car, like the wind and i think one other championship. you'll need it for the FGT championship anyway so its worth it.

if not the 89 nissan should be more than good enough.

Where did you buy the formula GT and how much did it cost?

You can get one in the online collectors dealership, think it costs just under 5 million and youll need to be level 24 in either a or b spec

My PSN is jebuslives if you wanna add me.
Could we have a permanent room for boards.ie?

    Sounds good.
In the clan im in we do a weekly race where we pick a track and settings like max bhp and race the following week and give points for places. Its worked out great so far.
Maby we could do something similar here.

I'll join it someday soon, maybe over the weekend. Haven't played any races against anyone yet, so want to see how well I'm doing. :D

My psn is Mad-goalie if anybody wants to add me.

Edit: Just to ask, has anybody attempted the seasonal event race with the Ford Focus? It's the 2nd race, next to the one with Mini Coopers.
I find it easy to come 2nd in it, but can't for the life of me catch up to the leader. He's always about 16 seconds ahead of me.

Right i opened the room and named "boards.ie". Had some interest twice, 3 people in total. But as it wasn't very organised people didnt stay too long.

As far as I can see there is no invite feature in GT5 which is quite annoying.

I think we need to set maybe a time when the lobby should be open maybe at 8 a couple of times a week.

Have qualifying for a race then a race. Probably 3/5 laps to begin with. Hopefully we'll be able to get some clean racing going.

Has anyone bought the Nissan R89C and if so is it any good? I need a racer for some of the challenges and at about €3,500,000 I don't want to buy a turkey!

Sorry logged out earlier. Yeah a set time would be a great idea alright. Sick of dirty racing so many twats online to ruin the fun. If you can get a time and date for a race count me in.

There are several races in the Professional and Extreme sections which are populated with Le Mans style cars, you need one in order to compete with them. I bought the Nissan anyway and it's something of an animal. Even the B-Spec driver can win fairly easily with it.

I was looking at that car myself but i waited and skipped a few races until i unlocked the 2 prize cars from like the wind a and b spec. Theyre both pretty similiar to that nissan and got me through those few tougher races. If you say the nissan is good though i might have to save up for one to add to the collection!

What two cars did you win for the 'Like the Wind' races and more importantly what car did you use to win them?

You get the Toyota Minolta '89 race car (amazing car) for winning the A spec, and the Toyota 7 race car '70 for winning the B spec.
I used the Mazda Furai Concept '08 to win Like the Wind in A spec and then used the prize car from that to do the same race in B spec.

edit: i forgot you had that nissan, that would probably do well in like the wind a spec. that mazda furai is capable of winning but it took me a good few attempts with it
