Fires At Open Prison After Inmates Riot

    Specialist prison officers wearing riot gear have been sent to an open prison in the south of England after inmates went on a rampage and started fires.

    The riot, at HMP Ford near Arundel, West Sussex, began at around midnight.

    It involved around 40 prisoners who smashed furniture and windows, activating fire alarms, before setting several buildings alight.

    Staff were forced to retreat and riot police and specialist prison officers were called in.

    Yes we do. You do realise that about half of after hours news stories are from foreign countries,right?

    Supposedly the trouble happened after some prisoners refused to be breathilized. It was a bit c*ntish doing that after New Years Eve!

    Category D prisoners are held in 'Open' prisons where they can wander around freely but must show up for daily roll calls.

    The idea of open prison never fails to amuse me - they get bed & board but relative freedom, why not just tag them? Must cost a fcuking load.
