What do people think of Autopitch as a way of buying a car?

Just came across this last night. The idea is that you put in the year, make, model, etc you want and it distributes the request to lots of dealers who then 'pitch' to you their wares.

There's a few of these type sites popping up- airbnb.com and 99designs.com have similiar ideas- the use of crowdsourcing amongst suppliers to bring the customer a product. But would you buy a car through it?

Isn't that a site for Americans?

I suspect it'll be coming our way at some stage if the concept takes off....hard to know but an interesting way of flattening the market- AFAIK there is full transparency- i.e.all the sellers can see the other sellers pitches- I think the idea is to get car dealerships into a kind of reverse auction.

Could be good for the consumer and drive prices down a bit maybe?
