Whats wrong with Nissan Radio's

Recently purchased a new Nissan Note.

The radio did not work at all on LW or MW fine on FM. It the standard radio / bluetooth unit I believe made by Clarion.

Because, I often use my car in the UK and listen to RTE on LW 252, I tried to tune it in.

I suspect that most people only use FM.

Dealer replaced the radio but still no good.

I can tell you that the fault in not the antenna because it works fine if you unscrew it and put on my other car with a good radio.

So the only posiibilties left are the radio is no good or the cable to the roof connection.

Try it yourself and post the results.

My brother has a 2010 Quasqui with a similarly bad reception on LW.

Anyone know what the fault is?

Given that audio is not my "thing", I'd be tempted to say crap aerial or connection.

I'd say your best bet it talk to a car audio expert (preferably old skool one who is used to LW & MW before that fancy FM was invented).

the solenoid that releases the boot catch is broken, it was a common problem with them, they arent that expensive to buy.
