Replaced my hardrive on sony vaio -cr 92 ( windows vista)( from 32 bit to 64 bit)after it crashed, could not find my back up recovery disc, so im using a recovery disc from a vaio F (Windows 7) which I was told by computer shop would be compatable. Could someone please tell me how to install. Thanks in advance!

It wont work im afraid. As you don't have a license for windows 7. But to install just turn it on, and the first screen you see should display options that say something like "boot order" Or something, and "setup". Choose the one relating to "Boot" and choose, boot from cd/dvd.
But as i said, the computer shop was wrong, it will install, but it will stop working eventually.

Microsoft copped onto this at some point and released the Universal Recovery ISOs -

    http://neosmart.net/blog/2008/windows-vista-recovery-disc-download/

However these will not allow you to perform an Installation: they will only give you access to the bootable recovery options.
