Mains Pipe Frozen, Can we leave heating on????

Mains pipe froze Christmas Eve, tried pouring loads of hot water on stopcock, but no joy.
Tank in attic is now empty, just wanted to know if we can leave our heating on, its powered by kerosene.
Does the water in the hot press tank come from the tank in the attic????
What happens to the tank in hot press when the attic tank is empty????
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Heating should be alright, there are loads of threads on the subject of frozen mains supplies here which go into detail on different system types if you want to make sure.

The hot water cylinder can't empty as it relies on the attic tank to create pressure (the cold water comes in at the bottom, hot goes out the top).

you can leave the heating on, if you have a zone for separate HW then leave it off so the hot tank doesn't boil

Thanks We have a thermostat upstiars and downstairs so should I leave the heating off upstairs, just to be on the safe side!!

No need. you can leave it on. There could be a motorized valve in the hot press connected to the tank. You can close that and it'll stop the cylinder heating.
