i use panoramio myself (photo limits). Usually find that resizing the image down until it's ~10MB is good enough, since it'll still be massive on the display (unless you've a really massive display

). Even saving at 95-99% jpeg compression can keep the file size smaller again without any noticible difference in he picture at all.
