I'm old enough to remember the snows of '82 and I can honestly say this is coming close to that. This is truly a 30 year at least winter! keep the fantastic pics coming, thanks to everyone posting pics, a wonderful record to look at in future normal mild winters

My dad and uncle say theres more now. Snow of 82 had more effect though because it drifted.

For the southern half of Leinster '82 wasn't anything too notable. For Dublin, Meath, Kildare and south Louth however it was an epic event. I have seen pics from 82 near my home and even excluding the enormous 7 foot drifts the snow was extremely deep. The max amount of snow seen so far in this spell anywhere in Ireland is about 1.5 feet. Of course parts of the Dublin/Wicklow mountains there is more than that.
