I think it says it on the game progress screen which is one of those menus on the left near the save game icon. I could be completely wrong but I remember seeing it on a screen where it had the game finished percentage stats or whatever as well.

Surely google will tell you though?

I tried that but it didn't say it there. As for Google I didn't find anything. As soon as you use "day" or anything similar it just returns info regarding the release date and stuff.

I made the mistake of buying a sports box for my challenger, top speed down to like 112!

Yeah same here with the challenger, i was going mad, i did some races to get cash and upgraded it to the max, 100K+ credits and i was only getting 119, it was only when i rang a mate i found out about the gears. with all the upgrades i think i was 20 seconds after the first lap.

608 mb is quite a patch!

    From a GT forum:
A new update has been released for Gran Turismo 5.
The main contents of the update are as follows:

    ・Seasonal Events
[Seasonal Events] have been added to the upper left side of the [GT Mode] - [GT Life] screen. From here you can participate in official online events from the Polyphony Digital team.
In these events, all participants race under the same regulations, and if you complete the event you will win rewards and experience. In Time Trials and Drift Trials, compete on the leader boards with players around the world.

    ・Online Dealership
An [Online Dealership] has been added to the left center of the [GT Mode]-[GT Life] screen. In here you will find popular and rare used cars.
You might just come across that one car you’ve always been looking for, that you haven’t been able to find in the [Used Car Dealer]

    ・Online Race Rewards and Experience
When you complete a race in the [Open Lobby] or [My Lounge], you will now gain rewards and experience points.
Therefore if you are focused more on playing online, you’ll still be able to gain rewards and levels that you need to progress in [GT Life].

・Driving Distance and Number of Wins in Online Races
The driving distance and the number of wins you achieve when you complete a race in [Open Lobby] or [My Lounge] will now affect your stats in [Profile] and the [Garage].
Here again the results from your online play will cumulate within [GT Life].

    ・Improved Rewards
The rewards for winning races in both A-Spec and B-Spec in [GT Mode]-[GT Life] have been increased for a limited time only. (This applies until the end of January 2011)
This is a great chance for those who were previously having difficulties getting ahead in the game, due to a lack of funds for tuning and purchasing required cars.

    ・Race Information Display
[Race Information Display] is now available in [Start]-[Quick Options]. (You can also see this in [Race Display] in [Options]).

    ・Save Data Backup
You can now copy and restore your save data. For details, please refer to the in-game [Manual].

    ・Personal BGM (Menu)
From [Options]-[Hardware]-[Audio], it is now possible to set the [Personal BGM] (Menu)]. (This can also be accessed from the [Music Library] within [GT Mode]).

    ・Car Name Change
The official name of "Red Bull X1" has been changed to "Red Bull X2010".

    ・Integration with the Website
The main features within [GT Mode]-[Community] can now also be accessed through the "gran-turismo.com" official website.

    [Important Note:]
    * We have made improvements to the [Log] within [GT Mode]- [Community] section, in order to make its operation more stable. Please note that the information that was here before the update has been reset.

    * Some contents of the update will not be applied unless you sign in to the PlayStation®Network when you play the game.

The game was kind of ruined for me since I won the Veyron and tuned it over 1100 bhp.

    Too easy at the moment.

Maybe opening the next series of games will help.

608MB is going to mean a shítty Xmas morning for a lot of people.

Sounds like they sorted a load of stuff, good to see.

I suppose since the game is only out with a while they can persuade more people buy it by adding/improving features but once the sales level off I can't see their motivation in improving it further unless they start charging for the prilivige.

Stupid short boxes! The SLS AMG has a 7th gear for anyone doing the Nurburgring challenges

Managed to get the Veyron with no upgrades up to 269mph on the Special Stage 7 motorway track which itself is addicting.

Advanced up to A-Spec level 20 last night and im starting to see what others were on about now with the difficulty in getting up to 21, let alone 25

They should really put these updates on a website so they can be installed via a usb stick.

Not really. It took a while to download but it did in the end. The game wouldn't move from the 'homescreen' afterwards so I had to close and restart but that was the only trouble.

How is it for the Xbox? It looks pretty good. Is it getting the same amount of problems it has on the PS3? I'm also getting this for Christmas, so what car do you recommend me to buy first?

    /facepalm

For me the highlight of the update is the inclusion of the ability to back up our saves. I have heard stories of people losing all their progress due to corrupt files prior to this.

What cars did people use here for the Gran Turismo All Stars and the Historic Racing Cars Cup in the expert series?

For the historic, the 2J race car tuned will win the race easily.

I won the Dodge Challenger R/T 70 race last night so don't need the car anymore. It's tuned up as much as the limitations of the race allow. If anyone wants it, let me know. PSN id is liamandagnieszka.

Once you win a seasonal challenge you can't win it again or gain from extra experience points.

Yeah, that one is nuts. Helps to have the most powerful stock model (crazy theres a few versions of this junker) then stick some engine upgrades and most importantly, tyres if they're allowed. It's tragic having to spend hard earned cash to win this at that early stage.
