What say all ye good experts?

I've spotted this among Lidl's "specials" arriving next Monday...

    http://www.lidl.ie/IE/home.nsf/pages...ital_Camcorder

Seems like it might do the job (ie, amateur wedding and afters footage conducted by a few mates). Is there anything essential I'm missing? It seems to take as a max 8GB storage cards, so that would presumably give different amounts of footage depending on whether you shoot HD or SD, but any ideas how much to expect? Also would battery life be an issue?

If there's no big red flag warning me off that anyone can point me to, I reckon I'll try and get me one on Monday morning, so again, any help appreciated.

    Thanks a mil.

It looks like a grand auld camera for the price. The spec seems fairly high too for what it is. I've bought a few camera's (both still & video) from lidl/aldi over the years and although the picture quality on them has been fine, little things that annoyed me were battery life was never great and it takes ages for the pictures/videos to be processed and saved. But if all you want is a camera for occasions every now and again i'd go for it. If it's **** just bring it back..........

my father got that before xmas so we had it to record the kids opening presents and the like. Works great in natural light but in dim light it goes to cameraphone quality still with the hd memory eating (2GB card = 20min). If the room was well lit i think it works fine, for the money I think its grand, really easy to use. No waiting time to save footage, everything works nice and quick.
