It's stopped now again.. was snowing relatively heavy in Finisklin for maybe 6 - 8 minutes.

All seems relatively quiet on the north western front. Bit of snow in Grange, a while back but nothing major.

Theres the odd flake in the town, but those coulds are closing in, any settling with you basquille.

BBC btw still showing a white out around 6 oclock, site is set at 3 hr intervals so could arrive earlier.

    Clouds seem to have dispersed..

.. there was a few flakes in Finisklin to begin with, and then there was a short flurry.

    Nothing stuck though!

Driving home in that heavy flurry was seriously disorientating at times..

BBC website has updated again, nothing major looking over sligo again until tomorrow.

Edit. Looking out the window is giving a slightly different story, plenty of grauple falling in the town at the moment.

I barely made it up Gallows Hill about 10 minutes ago. Avoid at all costs.

    Just read this on twitter:
Extreme care needed throughout Sligo-N16 Sligo/Manorhamilton Rd & Sligo-Ballintogher Rd are impassable due to ice. See www.aaroadwatch.ie

Heavey again in the town, mix of grauple and flakes, car is white, garden is white, cul de sac is white, drive is surprisingly clear (for now).

Where abouts was that MM, looking out the window in Bmote it seems fairly harmless what fell last night

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,909 ✭✭✭BronsonTB

Just wait till you get out on the roads...nothing harmless about the amount of sliding going on.....Sligo town is v poor....Tubber road (N17) is also very bad......Council have little or no salt for treating the roads so be extra careful....I can vouch the Bundoran road also has NOT been treated!

Think you might need to rethink that opening line BronsonTB. It seems to contradict everything thereafter.

Can vouch for the poor roads in Sligo town.. traffic moving at 20mph the whole way through town, but it's sorely needed. Absolutely treacherous out there.

Schools closed in North West due to snow. Snowing steadily, there'l be feet of it soon. Deadly:)
