HTC Desire: 2 Google Accounts - Gmail & Contacts. Option GONE??

Hey,

I'm trying to get my Desire working as I'd like it, and I did... but now the option to sync specific elements of the Google accounts are gone.

I first sync'd my normail Gmail account but it flooded the contacts with 1500+ contacts with email address. I know you can filter this a bit in People but they're all there when I pick a recipient for an SMS.

So I created a second Google Account just to manage my contacts, exported only "My Contacts" into it... tidied up and added contact images. Added that and chose only to sync with contacts. Added my gmail account and chose only to sync with Gmail and Calendar. Worked perfect for a day or two.... now it's started syncing everything from both accounts.

Here's the options I did have to select what each account sync'd with;


I could tick what I wanted (eg Only Contacts). Now the ticks are GONE... there's only a Sync icon for each line. When the account syncs it sync's everything.

I've tried removeing the Gmail account... all the contacts go... add it again and there are still no options anymore to unselect contacts from the sync option.

Any ideas why the option is gone or how to get it back??
